Dave D's Diary -The Real Life Adventures of a Loveable Collie in the British Isles

I am the owner of Dave D, a border collie who I rescued in 2012. He is a wonderful boy who is loving his new life and adventures. Dave D has a fear of other dogs but still makes the most of each day and this book will be written from Dave's own perspective.....

We are inviting readers to join us as we recount the many adventures we have taken together across the country and British Isles. Told through Dave D’s own narrations, stunning photographs and illustrations, readers will learn heaps about geography and culture, but also experience so many laughs along the way.” ( You can read paragraphs from Dave D's Diary  chapters on the Books page of our website)

What is it about?

The book includes information on a huge range of topics, from tide bells and the operation of lifeboats to the little-known use of seaweed extracts, how the rocket post was fired and how a mail boat was once created from a sheep’s stomach! Each fact is uncovered as Sue and Dave D go about the adventures, in a format that will resonate with readers of all ages.

“Ultimately, Dave D’s story is one of overcoming fears, embracing opportunity and jumping at any chance to go on a new adventure. Sue's life has been enriched by his presence and, to that end, she has decided to donate a portion of each sale to the Border Collie Trust G.B. rescue centre in Staffordshire – the very place their journey together began”.

MY BOOK

More information on the Contents page and sections from various chapters will follow.

Heart-warming but funny tales of a rescued collie and all that he has accomplished despite his fears.

Let this wonderful collie tell you numerous facts you may not have known, to show that Geography

is fun and to make you smile.

When I first met Dave D collie, whilst working as a volunteer at his rescue and rehoming centre, he was 11 years old and a frightened, nervous boy. Yet on our walks, I saw in his eyes and ways, a caring, loving nature with myself in spite of his fear of other dogs. We developed a very special bond and this is a true account of Dave D's new life from his own perspective, since I gave him a new home. It shares the ways he learnt to adapt to his fears, to conquer some, to make new friends and to lead a happy life full of often amusing adventures throughout the British Isles.
